Our Paint Mixing Service – Everything you need to know about mixing the perfect paint
We're truly in the midst of spring now, and this delightful season usually brings with it the desire to refurbish and renew your home. This year, forget about spring cleaning; it's all about spring painting!
When it comes to do-it-yourself projects, especially painting, deciding on the perfect colour for your room makeover is often the most difficult part. Picking a paint is sometimes a daunting task with so many different colours, shades, and tones to choose from. However, nothing is more frustrating than being unable to find your ideal paint colour for a room in your home…
Which is where our Paint Mixing Service comes in!
So, what is paint mixing and how can it help make your painting project that little bit easier? To put it simply, our paint mixing service does exactly what it says on the tin (excuse the pun!). The service allows you to mix together any of our Johnstone’s, Leyland or Dulux Trade colours to create the exact paint colour you’re looking for.
The paint mixing process is broken down into 4 simple steps:
Step 1: Choose your colour
Choose your favourite colour from our wall of stripe cards - warm, cool, or neutral hues are all available. If you already know what colour you want, we can use our in-store colour scanners to match the colour of any item you bring in, how cool is that?!

Step 2: Select your function
This step is an important one! Which room will your paint mixture be used in? If you’re painting the bathroom opt for moisture resistant, trying to brighten up a dark corner? Go for the light and space enhancing function.
Step 3: Decide on a finish
We have numerous finishes available, each with a different sheen level to achieve your desired look. From flat matt to high sheen, we have it all! It’s important to keep in mind that some colours are only available in certain finishes, so be sure to check with our experts that the colour you have chosen is available with your chosen finish.

Step 4: Time to mix it up!
Time for the best bit, your perfect paint is almost ready to take home. You've decided on a colour, a function, and a finish, so that means it’s time to talk to a store associate about bringing your colour to life.
Don't worry if you're unsure about which function to select, or if you need a second opinion on which finish to go for; our experienced and knowledgeable staff members are always available to provide expert advice.
