Green Homes Grant Sydenhams

From September, and now extended to 31st March 2022, Homeowners & Landlords can apply for a voucher from the government to put towards installing energy efficient and low carbon heating improvements to their homes. This could save hundreds of £££'s a year on energy bills! 

Whether you’re a Homeowner, Landlord or a Trustmark accredited installer, take a look at the information below:


Before applying for the Green Homes voucher – homeowners must have an estimate and a tradesman in place to complete the work.  However, in order to carry out this work tradesmen must be Trustmark Accredited.

Already Certified?
Great! Businesses who are either PAS 2030 or MCS certified, and are TrustMark registered meet the required certification and can take advantage of this opportunity straight away.
Becoming Certified

To become Trademark registered you must be PAS 2030 or MSC certified. To find out how to get certified, contact your relevant certification body. You can attend training sessions from the Builders Merchant Federation or via Saint Gobain, just fill out the form on the following link.

Becoming TrustMark

If you hold PAS 2030 or MCS certification then you can apply for TrustMark Registration. For more information on how to become TrustMark registered please visit the TrustMark website here.

Once certified

Once you are certified and TruskMark Accredited installers can register themselves on the government website here to ensure your business is visible to homeowners or landlords who are starting the application process.

Completing the work

You can only begin the work once the voucher has been issued, and the work must be completed and voucher redeemed by the customer before the voucher expiry date which can be 3 months or 31st March 2021, whichever is earlier.

The government will pay you for the costs covered by the voucher after the work has been completed and the voucher has been redeemed.  For more information on payment visit the government website here.

Homeowners / Landlords

If you’re a Homeowner or a Landlord you can apply for a voucher of up to £5,000, which can cover up to two thirds of the cost of the qualifying improvements to your home or property. Low income homeowners are eligible for up to £10,000 which can cover 100% of the improvements.

Improvements are split out into primary and secondary measures. Homeowners and Landlords must use the voucher for at least one primary measure. Any residual balance can be used towards secondary measures, as long as it does not exceed the value of the primary measure.
  • Insulation:
    • Solid Wall, Cavity Wall, Underfloor Insulation, Loft, Flat Roof, Room in Roof, Park Home Insulation
  • Low Carbon Heat
  • Air Source Heat Pump
  • Ground source heat pump
  • Solar thermal
  • Biomass Boilers

Secondary Measures

  • Windows and Doors:
    • Draught Proofing, Double/Triple Glazing, Secondary Glazing, Energy efficient replacement doors
  • Heating controls and insulation:
    • Hot water tank thermostats, hot water tank insulation, Heating controls.
