Guernsey Building Supplies Joins Sydenhams

Sydenhams are pleased to announce that as of 1st August 2016 we have taken over Guernsey Building Supplies (GBS) based in St Peters Port, Guernsey.

GBS will remain trading as Guernsey Building Supplies for the foreseeable future, but this is an exciting move for Sydenhams with this being our first branch on the Channel Islands.

Chris Carter, Purchasing Director of Sydenhams is very happy with the acquisition, stating “We are very excited about bringing GBS into the Sydenhams Group.

We have great experience with off-shore trading from our branches on the Isle of Wight and we look forward to applying some of that knowledge and experience to our new venture in Guernsey. GBS is a fantastic business and we look forward to continuing their good work and growing the business by putting in some investment to enhance both the service and product offering.”

This acquisition brings Sydenhams up to 14 Builders Merchant Branches located across the South, and 28 branches overall including our Hire Centres, Kitchen & Bathroom showrooms, Flooring and Timber Engineering side of the business.
