We went to the kbb Birmingham show!

Earlier this month we went to kbb Birmingham, the leading Kitchen, Bathroom, and Bedroom design show. This year the event was booming, having two of the four days having a record number of visitors. It was amazing to see the UK’s largest collection of KBB brands all in the same place, with such a large selection like Zanussi, Bosch, Siemens, Quooker and many more!

As soon as you enter, you are greeted with a vibrant show floor that show off the key industry design trends, as well as new, innovative products giving us inspiration to make sure that we are stocking only the best and brightest from the sectors.

You could see that personalisation and sustainability was a big factor within the show seeing many new products and companies wanting to make your Kitchen, bathroom or bedroom, not only personally perfect but economic.

With so many to see, we narrowed down our favourite trends from the show that you may see in a Sydenhams near you very soon!

Firstly, we were amazed by Caple’s Full Surface Induction Hob, whose technology advances the use of hobs in an even more modern way.

By having a 7-inch touch screen and Caple Smart pan detection, which not only allows you to use the whole hob surface but means you can have up to 6 pans at once on the surface, and has 6 programmable timers too. So, you can set your cooking and finishing times on each individual pan for up to 99 minutes.

It will adapt to your pans size and also track where the pan goes whenever you move it, so your settings will stay the same! Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it doesn’t stop there, they have 21 power levels which include a Keep Warm setting at 70°C and Bake at 42°C.

It has a TFT touch screen which uses the combination of TFT LCD display and touch technology, making it easy to select settings and cooking options, whilst also giving you a full colour display.

And, our personal favourite function is the Boil control where it will detect rising bubbles and automatically adjust the temperature to 94°C, stopping it from overflowing everywhere.

This will revolutionise not the hob itself, but how you cook, and how you use your Kitchen as a whole. To find out more about this device, you can get in touch or pop into your local showroom!

Secondly, we were introduced to a new product by Blanco which we think would be a useful addition to any kitchen! The Blanco Evol-S Volume Tap changes the way you measure liquid when cooking, as due to its innovative measuring cup function, you will always get the exact amount of water you want.

By using the rotary control and touch operation, you can decide exactly how much liquid you need, and once the container is placed underneath, it will only fill up the exact amount you choose.

The rotary control has a scaling wheel which allows you select the set amount you want in small increments from 100ml to 5 litres, then tap of the left-hand lever and the water will flow with your desired setting.

This takes away wasting water which shows sustainability but also personality within the home, and by having an effective flow control system controlling your water flow more accurately and precisely. If you want a faster, more powerful water flow then you can turn it up without worry of wasted splashing.

Additionally, by having a pull-out spout, it gives you more freedom to move around the sink and allows you to use the measuring cup function outside of the sink area, allowing you fill up anything you need, like the kettle on your worktop, making it even easier to make a cuppa!

We found this very impressive and it was amazing to see how much water you would save by using only the amount of water you need to use at that time. If you’re thinking you would want this in your home, then come on down into your local showroom or get in touch.

Over at the NEFF stand, they were showcasing all their new cooking appliances, with baked treats all round!

What definitely caught our eye was the New NEFF Induction hob with integrated ventilation system, which combines two appliances in one for a clear-view while cooking.

Having a FlexInduction, it allows you to place your pots and pans anywhere you want and heats them exactly where they stand.

By using a different arrangement of induction coils to cover a wider area, entire zones can be activated and pans placed anywhere within that zone will receive instant, even heat!

It also has a TwistPad Fire which is a removable, magnetic, illuminated control knob that gives you precise, convenient control over all cooking zones, and making your life even easier, only the selectable function are illuminated.

This hob has its FlexZone divided into three heating zones: boiling in front, simmering in the middle and warming in the rear, so you can know how to separate what food you’re cooking for what heat it needs.

It also has FryingSensor giving 5 selectable temperature settings, monitors the set temperature and holds it steady, meaning no more burning!

The main part of this hob that really sets it apart is the Climate Control that features in the middle of the surface. By detecting the amount of steam and smells using a sensor attached to the motor and automatically sets the most effective power level to extract it.

This appliance is definitely one to keep an eye out for!

Finally, what caught our eye were the New Dekton Avant-Garde Daring Textures, as well as being teased New Silestone countertops that should be coming soon to the U.K all by Cosentino!

The Dekton Avant-Garde, Daring Textures series took your attention immediately, with such bold patterns and alluring colours. They introduced three exclusive and premium colours: Laurent, Helena and Khalo, being such authentic tones it allows more design possibilities!

Being inspired by natural stone, all three colours show high shine and strong durability as well as being stunning to look at. They are all resistance to UV rays, scratches, stains and thermal shock, and has very low water absorption, making it perfect for the Kitchen, Bathrooms, Wall tiling or Flooring.

Additionally, we saw some teasers of New Silestone countertops that should be coming the U.K soon!

Perfect for your Kitchen, Bathroom or even floors and cladding, these countertops are made of more than 90% of natural quartz providing not only strength in its surfaces but resistance and durability.

We saw new Polaris and Laugar which both are beautifully lightly toned and has intricate details running through both.

All Silestone designs are stain, acid, shock and scratch resistant bringing elegance as well as resilience to your home.

Overall, the show as a whole was amazing to see, with so many beautifully created displays and innovative products, it set the bar high for Kitchens & Bathrooms over the next year!
