The Simpson Strong-Tie Heavy U Hanger is a heavy-duty hanger measuring 47mm in size, specifically designed for applications that demand extra strength. These hangers can be easily secured using square twist nails or 12mm fasteners through the bolt holes on the face. To prevent rotation, it is recommended that the hanger depth be at least 60% of the carried member depth. However, if additional lateral restraint is provided at the top of the carried member, this requirement can be adjusted.
